Wii-eality

The other day, I was driving along the freeway. My car approached a bump and I attempted to shake the steering wheel thinking that my car would do some sorta trick plus turbo boost.

Um...a little too much Mario Kart Wii perhaps?

Of course, my car didn't do any tricks. Then I realized that I was actually driving a car, not a kart on my tv. Got a good dose of wii-eality...where what I'm experiencing in reality becomes confused with what I played on wii.

What's going to happen when video games become more and more realistic? Are we going to be able to separate virtual reality from reality? Will we live more in the virtual world than in the real world? For instance, will we just hang out with people in virtual spaces and online "communities" (quotation marks intentional)? Don't we do that already...spending more time with IMs and facebook than face to face interactions? Will there one day be a virtual church (or is there already one) where we don't go to church but we go online to church?

On that note...how about some spiritual wii game ideas:

Wii Go to Church - shake remote to greet people, slam remote down to sit down, lift remote to stand, thrust remote to say "amen" during the message

Wii Pray - clasp the remote and nunchuk together to form prayer hands, tilt forward to bow, press A to peek at other people while they pray...if you make eye contact with another peeker, you both lose.

Wii Worship - lift remote and nunchuk to lift hands in praise, press remote buttons to sing louder/softer, shake remote to cry, and then you can unlock things like speaking in tongues, falling to the floor with holy laughter, and spazzing out.

Wii Do Body Worship - using remote and nunchuk to do body worship movements, shaking remote to communicate "this is too hard! I quit!"

Wii Get Baptized - play as baptizer or baptizee! Tilt remote to baptize someone into the water...keep them under water too long and they drown...must tilt remote at the right time to bring them back up from the water.

Wii Praise Band - like Rock Band but to worship music...and yes, you can fail.

Wii Spiritually Fit - how spiritually fit are you? underweight? obese? Get on the balance board and test your spiritual fitness! Dah.

Wii Brawl (Super Smash Brothers in Christ) - what happens when we don't agree on doctrine.

Church Kart Wii - like Mario kart...but racing to get a parking space at church.

Wii Preach - lift remote or nunchuk up for emphatic hand gestures, slam remote down to pound fist onto podium for effect, press B while shaking the remote to throw in more Bible verses, press Z while shaking to throw in some heresy to see who's paying attention.

Wii Need to Get a Life - yeah...

CJ's First Interview

Happy Baby CJ!

Here's a video of Corey when he is happy and playful. He is happy usually right after he eats and is content. We put him on the jungle gym and he just flings his arms and kicks his legs around...with a happy look on his face. Towards the end of the video you'll see him with a big smile. So cute.
